This slot machine is neither endorsed nor approved by the estate of Dr. Robert Atkins^®. It is meant as a parody of antique fruit-based slot machines. It is offered to the public to play for free, in the spirit of education about slot machine design. I make absolutely no profit from the game.

This slot machine has 5 reels, each with 32 stops. The game picks 5 random numbers from 1 to 32, one for each reel, and maps them to a symbol on the corresponding reels. The reel striping was carefully constructed to achieve a return of 97%, on average. For more information, please see my full design of the game (PDF 85K).

I designed this game in August 2008, when I was asked to speak to the Gaming Technologies Association, in Australia, on the topic of slot machine design. It took a while to find someone who could do the graphics, but the wait was well worth it. I would like to extend my thanks to Dingo Systems Inc. for the artwork, and “J.B.” for putting the graphics into my design, in the form of a JavaScript game for you to enjoy.
